What year are you and what are you studying?

Junior in Civil Engineering

How long have you been working at the CCO?

I have been working with Purdue's Center for Career Opportunities for about 2 years.

What are your responsibilities? What does a Peer Consultant do?

As a Peer Consultant, my responsibilities include reviewing resumes, critiquing cover letters, going over job search strategies, and performing mock interviews.

What have you learned about resumes and professionalism through this position?

I have learned that each resume is unique to the individual. There is no one way to do it, but the most important aspect is showcasing your best skills and experiences. It is important to incorporate professionalism on and off campus because your peers now will be your peers in the future job market.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part about my job is that I get to hear all about students' unique experiences and stories.

What is one piece of advice you would give Purdue students?

Get started early! It is never too early to start developing oneself professionally.
