Applying for jobs is now as easy as sending a tweet

By now, we hope you know the importance of having a LinkedIn profile, how to make yourself stand out, and how to choose a strong profile picture. And if you’re not already sold on the importance of having one, we have a blog coming soon on a Purdue student who recently landed her dream internship at Tesla after being found by a recruiter through LinkedIn. However, we’re not here to tell you about that today. We’re here to give you another reason why having a LinkedIn is the way to go.

Today, we want to tell you about the LinkedIn jobs app. The app is a great resource for finding jobs. You can even set up alerts for if a new job comes open that you may be interested in. Are you looking for jobs with the keywords “environmental engineering” in Atlanta, or “content writer” in San Diego? You can set up alerts so that your app will send you a notification and e-mail you if any new ones come open- and you can set it so that you’re only getting alerted for internships, entry-level or associate positions (if you have enough experience to apply). If you’re open to moving anywhere, you can simply set an alert with keywords for your dream job with “any location” and be exposed to jobs around the world that might be exactly what you’re looking for.

But, wait for it… the ability to set up alerts and scroll through a job board with the same ease as scrolling through your Twitter feed isn’t even the best part. Many of the job openings let you apply just by sending your LinkedIn profile. That’s right- all you do is click “Apply” and your LinkedIn profile gets directly sent to a recruiter. No more worrying about how to fit all your accomplishments in a resume, writing the perfect cover letter, or filling out all those tedious applications. All you have to do is make sure you have an awesome LinkedIn profile!

So, if you’re tired of aimlessly switching back and forth between Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, try downloading the LinkedIn Jobs app. You never know what you might find.
